What a licensed Medicare agent does for you

Zulema Zamudio Medicare Insurance Agency is an independent, licensed agency on Third Avenue in downtown Chula Vista. Since 2008 we have helped Medicare beneficiaries across San Diego County enrol on time, compare their options honestly, and keep the doctors they already trust. You are never charged for our help — independent agents are compensated by the insurance carriers, not by the people they serve.

Medicare enrollment help

Turning 65, leaving an employer plan, or already on Medicare and unhappy with your coverage. We explain Parts A, B, C and D in plain language, check your doctors and prescriptions against each plan before you commit, complete the paperwork with you, and review your plan every fall so a quiet benefit change does not cost you in January.

Medi-Cal and Medicaid help

In California, Medicaid is called Medi-Cal, and for many Medicare beneficiaries it pays the Part B premium and the cost sharing Medicare leaves behind. We screen you for Medi-Cal, the Medicare Savings Programs and Extra Help in one sitting, complete the application in English or Spanish, and make sure the annual renewal does not slip past you.

Retirement and Medicare planning

Retirement changes your health coverage before it changes anything else. We map out when to file for Part A, Part B and drug coverage based on your actual retirement date, check whether your employer’s drug coverage is creditable, coordinate a spouse who is not yet 65, and prepare an IRMAA appeal when a life-changing event has reduced your income.

Our office is in downtown Chula Vista and we serve all of San Diego County: National City, Bonita, Eastlake, Otay Ranch, San Ysidro, Imperial Beach, Spring Valley, La Mesa, El Cajon and the city of San Diego. Office and home appointments are both available.
